The House of Nubia is an organization formed to promote the social, cultural, and educational interests of the Nubian diaspora in the greater Washington DC metropolitan area. It is a non-profit organization led by Nubians from both genders, aiming to preserve Nubian heritage among its diaspora and work towards the maintenance and enhancement of the original language and culture within the diaspora and in the Nubian region. The organization prioritizes targeting youth and empowering them to play a central role in the long-term preservation of Nubian cultural heritage. This is achieved through their involvement in heritage-related activities such as workshops, internal training, and cultural exchange programs. The organization undertakes the task of connecting the youth with their timeless heritage, whether in the diaspora or in the ancestral land, aiming to instill a sense of pride and responsibility in future generations. Believing that connecting youth with Nubian culture and teaching them the original language, both written and spoken, is the right path to promote and strengthen Nubian identity structures. Additionally, the organization takes on the responsibility of supporting Nubians above the Nubian land in planning and supporting in areas of education, healthcare, agriculture, and economy.
